I’ve always believed in putting people first, and during one of the hardest chapters of our lives, that belief only got stronger. When you lead with care and focus on helping others, it always comes back to you.
When interest rates spiked after COVID, everything shifted for our family. My husband’s work as an appraiser slowed down almost overnight, and just like that, I became the main source of income. My real estate business kept us afloat. It was a pressure I hadn’t expected, but I knew the only way through was to dig in and work hard for my people.

Since getting licensed in 2013, real estate had been something I fit in between nap schedules, school drop-offs, and volunteering with the PTA. I got into it when my husband and his dad were flipping houses and needed an agent. We had four kids, and I was pregnant again, but I dove in anyway, getting licensed just two months after giving birth to our fifth child. What started as a way to alleviate commission costs for our flips turned into a way to help family and friends, too. I fell in love with helping people through the buying and selling process.
While my heart was always fully in my role as a mom, real estate gave me something of my own. It is a space where I can learn, grow, and contribute to something bigger than myself. It gives me the fulfillment of helping others through major life transitions and allows me to develop professionally while still being deeply involved at home. That balance has meant everything to me.
My dad was a big part of how I came to see work and family. He was a family historian, creating beautiful books of history for people to be connected to their ancestors. It was a job people usually do for free in Utah, and yet he and my hardworking mom raised nine kids on it. He believed in following your passions and finding a way to make a difference. And my mom was always creating that sense of home, with home-cooked meals every night and ensuring we all had quality family time.
My dad also instilled an appreciation for our history and how our ancestors laid the groundwork for what we have today. To honor that, each of my kids’ names is tied to someone from our family tree. For example, Zander is short for John Alexander Nelson, a great-grandfather who served as a young missionary in Samoa. And when I was in the middle of real estate school, pregnant with my fifth child, I read about Julia Ann Rocker-Bercier, an ancestor who delivered over 300 babies in the 1800s without losing a single mother or child. She was known as the “Angel of Mercy,” and I named my daughter Treva Mercy after her. Strength and service are part of our legacy.
That appreciation for history extends to homes, too. When I walk into a house with a client, I imagine the memories that will be made there—the yard where kids will run barefoot, the kitchen where birthday cakes will be frosted, the living room where movie nights and late-night talks will happen. That’s really what makes me so passionate about real estate and helping people find a place for the next chapter of their lives to unfold.
When the market slowed, I kept focused on making a difference in people’s lives. I showed up, listened, and helped however I could. And as a result, I was able to keep my family afloat. I’ve learned that when you care deeply about people, and you put their needs first, the rest will follow. I’ve seen that time and time again.
Coming through that challenging season, I gained deeper confidence in myself, too. What started as a hobby became the very thing that carried us through the leanest years of our life. Whether it is through working on the Charity Committee on the Salt Lake Board of Realtors, handing out milk cartons at the Dads and Donuts Fundraiser at the local elementary school, or walking my clients through a life-changing process, I’m always asking myself, “How can I make a difference in the world today?” That mindset is really what has defined this journey and what will continue to guide me as I build a legacy of service with my family.

This business has always been rooted in service, trust, and care, and now I have the goal of expanding our reach so we can help more people. Recently, both my son, Zander, and daughter Kezia, have enrolled in real estate school and will be joining me to make that happen. I built this business on family values, and every client we work with is treated like family.
Real estate, to me, has always been about more than just buying or selling homes. It’s about helping people navigate big life moments with confidence. I love turning dreams into REALity one home at a time. I’m hands-on in every step of the process, scheduling professional photography, coordinating staging, connecting clients with trusted lenders and contractors, and making sure their home is marketed with care and strategy. I’ll walk a property with a client and point out things they might not notice. I’ll write strong offers that reflect their goals, explain every document line by line, and check in after closing to make sure they’re truly settled. Whether it’s negotiating repairs or helping someone find their first home, I’m all in. My clients feel seen, supported, and never alone in the process. And even after the transaction is over, I love being a lifelong resource for anything they (and you) may need.
Sincerely,
Natalie Griffith
